YAVATMAL: The Wadgaon Jungle police have arrested a 35-year-old man, along with his younger brother, for murdering his wife. The accused were produced before the court on Saturday which remanded them to three days in police custody. According to police, Nilesh Banduji Dethe (35), a resident of Pimpri (Buti) village had married the deceased Jyotsna (28) in May 2015.
They have two kids,
Vaibhav (8) and Swara (6).
Police said Jyotsna had an extra-marital affair and on three occasions, Nilesh had caught her in a compromising position with her paramour. He cautioned her and even informed her brother about her “ misdemeanours”. On Friday, he saw his wife with her paramour and thrashed her. He took her to a nearby dam where he thrashed her again. She collapsed and remained unconscious. Nilesh has then called his younger brother Nithesh, said police. Meanwhile, Nilesh made a phone call to Jyotsna’s brother Vithal Kavadu Tikhat, a resident of Ranwad village in Ralegaon tehsil of Yavatmal district.
Vithal started for Pimpri while the brother duo carried Jyotsna on a bike to Ralegaon. Vithal met Nilesh and Nitesh on the way near Metikheda village. The trio rushed an unconscious Jyotsna to a private doctor in Ralegaon. But the doctor there was out of station, so the trio took Jyotsna to the government hospital in Ralegaon, where she was declared brought dead. Vithal lodged a police complaint at Ralegaon police station. The case was handed over to Wadgaon Jungle police station area, as the incident had happened in its area. PSO Pavan Rathod is conducting investigation. Meanwhile, in another case, suspecting infidelity, a 53-year-old man allegedly murdered his wife and later died by suicide in Amdi village in Parseoni tehsil between 8pm on Thursday and 5.30am on Friday.
